It is with great sadness that I share the news of Dr. Peter Munns’ passing. What devastating news. Heartbroken is only the tip of the iceberg. He had become a friend and a brother. Since our lives crossed paths in 2020, we stood side by side against the evil onslaught that is trying to overwhelm this world.
Dr. Munns, the esteemed founder of the National Peace Commission, was a beacon of hope and a tireless advocate for peace and freedom in South Africa, embodying the mission and vision of the Commission in every aspect of his life. His unwavering commitment to promoting dialogue, understanding, and harmony among diverse communities has left an indelible mark on our society. The world is poorer having lost this brave soul, and heaven is richer.
May we see each other soon, my brother. I will miss our chinwags, your one-liners, and most of all, the inspiration you have been to all of us. It’s been an honour and a privilege. As you always said, Peace and Freedom go hand in hand.
Sincere condolences to the family. May God be with you in your valley, but be reassured that heaven is celebrating his return home.
