Statement on proposed emergency roll-out of vaccine program in Africa for monkeypox

The following statement was released by SAVIMS, a voluntary interdisciplinary group focused on vaccine injuries, and it addressed the proposed emergency rollout of a monkeypox immunisation program in Africa.

SAVIMS is concerned about the declarations made by Africa’s CDC Director General Jean Kaseya and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus about the acquisition of 10 million doses of monkeypox vaccine.

The statement emphasises several issues, including the lack of scientific evidence for a prescribed monkeypox vaccine, the potential risks of using mRNA vaccines, the importance of informed consent, and the public’s right to refuse medical intervention they are uncomfortable with.
